We are looking for entry-level and junior grade scientific programmers interested in our remote sensing and satellite data assimilation focus areas. The incumbent are expected to perform software development to support current and future space-based remote sensing missions including, national, foreign, and commercial remote sensing systems including the GPS-RO constellation.

Location : Monterey, CA

 Remote Sensing Specialist

The successful applicant will join a broad-based team of scientists and engineers involved in interpretation, utilization, radiometric, calibration, validation, and analysis of spaced based microwave and infrared radiometer, spectrometer and interferometer data. The candidate should possess a strong desire to learn new techniques and methods to process large volume data sets from a variety of space-based environmental sensors. The applicant should also possess a  STRONG background in math and physical science, and a willingness to learn atmospheric radiative transfer, microwave radiometer design, microwave calibration methods, and statistical analysis.

Must have experience in at least one or more of the following: FORTRAN, C/C++, Python, UNIX shell scripting, Matlab, and/or IDL and numerical weather modeling experience.

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Atmospheric Science (Meteorology), Oceanography, Physics, Computer Science, or Statistics.

Satellite Data Assimilation Specialist

The successful applicant will join a broad-based team of scientist involved in the assimilation of space based remotely sensed data from hyper-spectral infrared spectrometer and interferometers, microwave radiometers and radio occultation from the GPS-RO constellation. The candidate should possess a strong desire to learn new techniques and methods to process large volume data sets from a variety of space-based environmental sensors. The applicant should also possess STRONG background in math and physical science. Willingness to learn variation data assimilating systems, fast radiative transfer models, and statistical analysis.

 

Must have experience in at least one or more of the following: FORTRAN, C/C++, Python, UNIX shell scripting, Matlab, and/or IDL and numerical weather modeling experience.

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Atmospheric Science (Meteorology), Oceanography, Physics, Computer Science, or Statistics.
